Sustainable Design

We believe in sustainable design and building for the long term benefits to our owners and the environment. We can add passive solar design, solar hot water, radiant heating, geothermal heat, replace windows or add insulation to tighten the building envelope and depending on location and zoning wind energy.

Today more than ever there are so many options including leasing solar panels and still saving money on utilities each month without a large upfront expenditure. Our Project/Design Manager has a degree in Environmental Design (Architecture) for the University of Colorado. This was one of the first green and sustainable building programs in the nation. We have long had a passion to build better functioning quality homes and lessening or eliminating dependence on public utilities. Or in the case of solar and wind energy you can receive money back from the power companies for the excess you produce and put into the grid.

We will help you compare the payback time frames for each technology and decide based on how long you intend to live in your home and how much energy independence and efficiency means to you which is best for your needs. Anything we do will improve the value and comfort of your home. Think radiant heated/cooled floors and less draftiness. Better control of heat loss and use of natural light. We would love to discuss options with you.
